About Me

Hi, my name is Kristin Renault and I’m the creator of The Createfully Divergent Way.

If I had to describe myself in one word, that word would be creative. I’ve been making art of all kinds since before I can remember, but I’ve also spent many years struggling in every other area of my life.

I mean, sure NOW I’m doing great — I have a wonderful husband and son, the art studio of my dreams, and a career path I’m passionate about, but I had to build those things from scratch and that’s NOT easy to do with a head full of shame and self doubt.

I was informally diagnosed nearly 7 years ago and I’d like to tell you that my struggles ended with that diagnoses but, in may ways, that was just the start of my journey because even after I knew what was “wrong”, I didn’t feel like I had the ability to change it.

Neurodivergence has this way of making you feel like you’re somehow not enough and too much at the same time. The harder you try, the harder you fall.

Everything changed when I started rethinking what it meant to be creative.

With creativity you can rewrite your self narrative, redesign the systems that are holding you back and reinvent yourself as many times as you need to get it right. And by right, I mean real, authentic.

That’s how I try to live now, leading with my creativity and a healthy dose of compassion for myself and my EXTRA (ordinary) brain.

And along the way I created a mindset for myself that doesn’t require me to think like a neurotypical. Now, it’s time to share that mindset with other neurodivergent creatives. So we can all begin to thrive the createfully divergent way.
